Hey Hackers,
Greetings from the SV Hacks Organizing Team! Thanks to your stupendous response, we have nearly 300 registrations for the event (and counting)!
We’re in the home stretch — the hackathon is next weekend. Here are some important to-dos and some key information about the event:
Team formation
It’s time to start forming teams! If you have a great idea for the project you want to work on at the hackathon, post it on the DevPost forum so that potential team-mates who are interested in working with you can reach out to you. You can also find potential team-mates on the DevPost participants page, message them to learn about their project or ask them to join yours. You can register your team here. The first 10 teams to register will all receive $30 gift card.
Prizes

First prize: 1 Samsung Virtual Reality headset per person + $750 Amazon gift card per person

Second prize: 1 BB-8 Sphero per person + $350 Amazon gift card per person

Third prize: 1 Syma Explorers 6-Axis Quadcopter + $200 Amazon gift card per person
In addition, we also have some more cool team and individual prizes up for grabs, including Amazon Echos, Roku 3 Streaming Media Players, Leap Motion controllers and Arduino Starter Kits.
Keynote: The keynote address will be on the Digital India and Start-Up India initiatives, delivered by Ambassador Venkatesan Ashok, Hon'ble Consulate General of India, San Francisco.
Judges: We have a great lineup of judges for the event, including Mayfield Fund Partner, Uber Head of Mobile Engg., and Pinterest Head of Engg.
Event kick-off: The event will kick off at Feb 20, 1pm at the Juniper Aspiration Dome (1081 5th Ave. Sunnyvale, CA). Please visit the Hackathon website for more details on the schedule, and rules and guidelines.
